Fantastic experience: I was visiting Palafrugell last June with my family and stumbled across Vent de Mar. The restaurant was packed, but as busy as they were, the owner Renay and his wife gave us a great and personal dining experience.....and with Renay being from Cuba, you can count on the BEST mojitos in Spain (and possibly on the planet). Can't wait to get back!

The cherry tomatoes used in both, the pizzas and the pastas, as well as the basil, onions and other veggies are grown in the owner's back yard and picked daily for daily use as we are told. The pizza dough is firm at the bite and soft in the mouth and the crust is crunchy in the perfect way: you really don't want to leave it to waste; instead, you want to sprinkle it with the chili pepper olive oil they pass from table to table and wash it down with an "anima de raimat" tinto -as local as it gets. Kudos to the pizzaiolo. Salads are beautifully crafted garden salads. Highly recommend the Burrata, followed by the Trottole all'arrabiatta. The place: The opposite of Urban, or classy, industrial or even casual; it has its own salt and pepper: Fast-paced multicultural servers turn around "commands" fairly quickly with "the drink and the joke". Newcomers and "the usual suspects" from every summer boil in this mediterranean gem to the sound of the cuban classics that play througout the early hours of the AM.
