About Can Maholà
Can Maholà is a historic rural house located in the municipality of Beuda, just 3 km from Besalú, in the heart of Alta Garrotxa. It is a 12th-century farmhouse that preserves its original charm, ideal for those seeking tranquility, nature, and an authentic experience in a setting of heritage value.
The name of the house, "Can Maholà", means "the respected one" in Arabic, and has been mentioned in documents for over 800 years. During the War of Independence, the farmhouse was fortified, and it still retains two watchtowers as a testimony of that tumultuous time. The house has always been in the hands of the same family, which currently represents the 33rd, 34th, and 35th generations since the first documented owner, Bartomeu Maholà (1148).
Its privileged location allows visiting places like Besalú, the Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of Garrotxa, the Costa Brava, the Dalí Museum, or Girona with its Jewish quarter, in addition to enjoying hiking and multiple outdoor activities.

We spent 1 week at Can Fuster, very comfortably! The kids enjoyed the domestic animals, and especially the night!! What a beautiful and agile dog!! We had a great time! Very quiet place, ideal for disconnecting. Spacious with plenty of room for the kids to play, heated pool, small soccer goals. There are also different trails and routes for hiking... Highly recommended!
