Además en el segundo buceo nos han puesto junto con dos chicos que tenian el open, cuando nosotros somos advanced, algo que antes de reservar me dijeron que intentarian que no fuese el caso. Entiendo que se puede dar esta situación debido a la organización de grupos, pero esto ha dificultado el buceo ya que uno de ellos no controlaba bien la flotabilidad y cada dos por tres se iba sin control hacia arriba, teniendonos que detener con mas frequencia de lo idoneo. Sobre la poca amabilidad del personal, me he llegado a sentir como si hubiese hecho algo para ofenderles y sin entender el que o porque, sin haber hecho nada malo. Entiendo que simplemente es que son poco amables y poco atentos. He intentado en varias ocasiones dar algo de conversacion a diferentes instructures pero sus respuestas han sido breves y tajantes. Volveria a bucear en esta zona pero no con este centro de buceo, no recomiendo.

The diving in Illes Medes is definitely worth it, the spot is very nice in terms of nature and easiness of reaching from the beach (only 10 minutes by boat). But when it comes to the school itself, my personal experience was not the nicest. I didn't feel I was given enough attention during the Nitrox course, we didn’t discuss the exam questions and it was a bit rushed from my point of view. Once the dive was finished, they were in a lot of hurry because the next diving group was immediately entering. During the dive, our guide was not paying much attention to us; we even lost her underwater for a few minutes due to a problem with buoyancy control - my buddies stayed and waited until I got back to a good position, whereas our guide continued and only realized we had to stop after a few minutes... Overall everything was okay, but my impression was that it is a very commercialized scuba diving center and I would rather not feel like coming back. The good side: the wetsuits were very comfortable, and in general all the equipment was very well maintained.

We were doing a Nitrox course and when we were discussing the details beforehand, the school told us that we would have time to discuss all of our doubts. There was no time + during the second dive the guide wasn't so interested in us. I know we are certified divers, but my friend had some problems with buoyancy, so during the dive she went all the way to the surface. With another friend, we were waiting for her to see if she would manage to solve the issue. The guide didn't notice it, so she kept going and we lost her for a few minutes - later she came back but the issue was already resolved. So yeah. I know we are certified divers, but it leaves me with mixed feelings.

Digital manometers are pretty cool and provide you with useful information (Depth, air pressure, temperature...) if you do not have a dive computer. - Miguel, our guide for most of the dives, was a very cool guy, he set a very laid back pace for the dives and we liked this (Even if sometimes I would have liked to stay still for a little longer when we encountered this squid). He also provided help when I lost both my fins during one of the dives ^^. Also spoke fluent French and did his best to find us some grouper fishes (Mérous :p) - As I said, I had trouble with my fins, they gave me another pair with a different design to accommodate me, also provided a bigger mask to when I requested after the first dive. - The girl at the reception, whose name we did not ask cause we have questionable manners :p, was super cool, it was a pleasure to go to the shop and she always tried to accommodate us and answer our questions. - The conditions were complicated at sea, so one of our dives that was supposed to take place in the Medes Islands was rerouted to the coast to a spot we already dived the day before. They told us so before the dive so we could decide whether or not we wanted to go. Much appreciated. Also on the last days for the last dive my girlfriend was not feeling well so we did not go and there was no fuss, we really did appreciate this as well. The missing star is because the pace was quite fast when boarding / gearing up / disembarking, and we were a bit rushed by the other (French) instructor on the second day. We understand it was a busy time, and rough conditions at sea were adding some stress for the team, but the constant rush was a bit much, and we did not even have time to do proper buddy checks before going into the water. Also, just so you know, they don't do 'two dives in a row', it was always one dive, back to the port, then leave for another dive, then back to the port etc. Not what we were used to. We would definitely come back, but rather during the low season, because we like to avoid any kind of stress on our vacations :) Anyways. Good operation with good people. We paid roughly 400 euro for 4 dives each with Island taxes, guide, and full gear, which I reckon is a very honest price!

Dive Spots: Both main sites 'Coast' and 'Islas Medas' are worth seeing, but definitely more and bigger fish at Medes :-) Apartments: Big, friendly and clean apartments, located right next to the base/marina - ideal for divers; Only the beds are not very comfortable.

Fantastic experience: I spent a week diving with Unisub and it was great. The crew was very friendly and helpful and the captain did not take any risks when it came to swell and strong winds, so you did not have to worry about clambering up a ladder violently moving up and down with all your dive gear on. The tank service was also excellent, with full tanks being provided right in front of the boat in transport boxes. The dive briefings were another excellent thing and they were spot on. Nature around the Medes Islands is awesome. We saw a ton of animals including barracudas, groupers, dragon heads, moray eels, spiny lobsters as well as gorgeous gorgonias. There is only one aspect that could use improvement, which only came to mind after my stay: After every dive the crew would give us small plastic glasses with hot tea. Unisub should think about replacing those with metal cups that can be washed considering all the dives they do throughout the year. I highly recommend going diving with these guys. Thanks again!
