September is an ideal month to travel to the Costa Brava if you want to spend a few days on vacation without the overwhelming heat and tourists that are in the middle of the summer season. The maximum temperature is 26ºC and the minimum is 15ºC. Although it is a month with a lot of sun, the precipitations advance as the month goes by.
A point in favor of traveling to the Costa Brava in September is that the prices of the different accommodations drop in price during these dates of less occupation. The beaches are not crowded and it is easier to enjoy the landscapes. You can also enjoy medieval festivals, such as the Terra de Trobadors Festival in Castelló d'Empuries where there are music performances, troubadours, jugglers, a medieval knights' tournament and even a medieval dinner. We can also see medieval combat, archery and jousting in the charming town of Besalú.
The temperature of the Mediterranean Sea is still ideal for taking a bath even though it is less hot.
