The last month of spring begins to have very warm and pleasant temperatures without the uncomfortable heat of summer. The maximum temperature is 24ºC and the minimum is 10ºC. In this month the nightlife of the Costa Brava begins to come alive and it is typical to go out for some tapas or drink a sangria.
Rainfalls in May are present so don't forget to bring a rain jacket.
During the month of May, Temps de Flors is held in Girona, a floral exhibition that dresses the entire city in colors and floral aromas. In addition, the festivals and fairs of the Santa Creu are also celebrated in Figueres, a tradition where the Sardana has a certain role.
The temperature of the sea water is finally pleasant for taking a bath, especially during the last week of the month, when the temperature of the Mediterranean Sea reaches 21ºC.
