January, the first month. Winter on the Costa Brava is quite mild and calm. January would be one of the coldest months of the year, although the temperature is pleasant: a maximum of 14ºC and a minimum of 2ºC. If you want to go on vacation to the Costa Brava in January, make sure you bring warm clothes, especially at night. Despite the cold, it must be said that there are between 7-8 hours of sunshine a day, which makes it very pleasant to spend the day on the Costa Brava. Also, rainy days are rare.
During these dates you can visit the most important museums and monuments on the coast without waiting in long lines or even doing the route of the medieval towns.
In January, the temperature of the Mediterranean Sea is 14ºC, so you will have to be very brave if you want to take a dip.
