Positive experience: I booked the hotel stating that one of the pools was covered due to the forecast of rain. I chose it because I thought, 'even if it rains, I can swim with my 2-year-old child'. To my surprise, when I arrived there, the pool was under renovation because it was not yet covered. Then, the information from the hotel reception did not tell me where the pool or the playroom were. I thought, 'the elevator will indicate on which floor everything is', but no, it didn't say anything. The water in the shower went from hot to suddenly cold, and so on. In the family rooms, they put a trash can that is too small, as two of my child's diapers fill it up. I had to buy garbage bags and keep them on the balcony because they clean every three days, and the room smelled a lot. The buffet leaves much to be desired; there are few options and many of them are scrambled eggs, bacon, tourist buffet. The coffee is just pure water, very bad; the hospital machine coffee is better. For a 4-star, I expected much more.

Most of the rooms are small apartments, with a living-kitchen area that helps you out of a problem. It's not bad for going with kids, it's very close to the beach for walking and the port area, the buffet food is acceptable. It has a pool and a play area for kids. They serve breakfast and dinner. If you want to eat there it has to be at the pool bar with options like: pizzas, burgers, and hot dogs. But: they clean the room/apartment twice in ten days. The condition of the apartments in general is improvable, they need renovations and repairs. The air conditioning is a bit lacking. The area where it is located is terrible, a slum. If they lower the prices a bit and take away a star, it wouldn't matter.

Fantastic experience: I see a lot of negative criticism about this hotel and many statements from people that I don't think are accurate. Let me explain my experience: we stayed for the first time two weeks ago. We arrived on a Friday and stayed until the following Monday (weekend with half board). The hotel is well located. Next to the beach, and easy to access from the highway, via the avenue of the football field. The rooms are clean, they have air conditioning, fridge, bed and sofa. Well, at least ours did, as we were with our two small daughters. At all times, the staff were friendly to us, especially if they see you have children, they make sure they have everything they need. You don't find that everywhere, and it's appreciated. It is true that there was a bit of chaos, because the hotel has been under construction (it's still not finished) and there are some areas that are not 100% available, but the basics are: pool (one large and one small for kids), a bar area by the pool where they show football, a very complete buffet restaurant, a children's play area... In short, a service of at least a 4* Hotel, for me. As I said, maybe because of the construction, or because the summer season was starting, maybe it still couldn't be at 100% of its operation, or they couldn't accommodate everyone they wanted, but if you are going to spend a few days and have your reservation, you won't lack for anything. Moreover, the staff is very nice and very willing to help. We had a great time, and we hope to return next year, if family finances and dates allow it. I hope my review helps clarify some doubts for those undecided, and to thank the hotel staff for everything they have done for me and especially for my family. I recommend it 100%.

I was assigned a wonderful room, according to my preferences, thank you very much, Reception. And check-out at 12H without problem and no extra charge. Thank you ❤️ Breakfast and dinner buffet with average variation, but quality and palatability 10/10. Very good coffee, yes. Elevators, outdoor pool that is covered in winter, kindness and very good treatment from the staff, luggage storage. On Friday they offered us a free glass of cava and on Monday typical coca de Sant Joan. Noisy groups, but tolerable due to the Sant Joan festivities. So, why won't I be able to return? Because of their room cleaning policy. I can understand that in apartments it is done every 3-4 days, but not in rooms. I stayed from June 16 to 25, 9 nights MP in double room for single use. I was entitled to cleaning only on the 19th and 22nd. On the 19th they forgot it, I complained and they made the bed, emptied the bathroom bin, and changed the towels. I must admit that, as I asked for more frequent cleaning at check-in, the day before they had also made the bed without changing sheets and had left me 3 extra bath towels, swept and mopped nothing, cleaned the bathroom nothing. The cleaning on the 22nd, regrettably, left the bathroom mirror as you will see in the photo and, although they did sweep, mop, and made the terrace, another photo will show how the floor was left. And it’s a shame, because when you enter everything is spotless, but I think I can venture that it is an issue of more just salaries (or schedules) for the maids. DAILY and thorough cleaning of a beach accommodation I estimate that, in room and not apartment, is an unavoidable requirement that the visitor expects by default, no matter how much it is explicitly stated in the conditions that only apply to the apartments. I, at least, suggest reviewing this point in a 4* APARTHOTEL. I have a serious back injury that prevents me from making the bed, buying broom, mop, cleaning products, cloths, because I cannot use them at home, I do not expect to have to do so on vacation.

Stay at Ona Palamós July 18-21; Firstly, due to circumstances beyond my control, I could not attend on the reserved dates and at all times they were interested in finding solutions. Excellent location, you have the great Platja de Palamós within a 5-minute walk, shops and services nearby, no need to take a vehicle. On the other hand, in our case during 3 weeks in July we were able to park in areas close to the hotel without problems to avoid having to pay for parking and at no time was it overcrowded. Facilities are correct considering the price, everything is very clean and the staff is very friendly, there are obviously some things to improve like the showerhead, but small details, they offer good service for the price you pay, we slept without any discomfort and the air conditioning along with the mattress was great. Food is very correct, there isn't a huge variety in the buffet but everything we ate was very good, preferable this than having many dishes and half of them not being up to par. Pool is fine and the staff is attentive to any needs. I believe that if you are looking for a hotel to sleep, good food, and location it is excellent for the price you pay but if you intend to spend all day in the hotel you might need to look for other alternatives although obviously much more expensive. Very happy with the experience and we will surely take it into account for future trips.

Parking is very easy. The hotel does have parking for 16 € a night, but it's not worth paying. You can park on the street just a few meters from the hotel at no cost (we parked at the door). In my opinion, the only "fault" is the layout in the rooms without a kitchen, where the beds are, there is no window to freshen up and there is a lack of a TV, as the sofa is quite uncomfortable. For the price it has, I definitely recommend Ona Palamos.

I thought I had booked an apartment but I was mistaken and booked a double room with a balcony, very clean and sufficient for three people. The cleaning on the fourth day seems fine to me if you don’t dirty too much, but you can request them to come clean if you need it.
