The person who wrote the review was part of a group. This isn’t the first time we’ve had a different opinion on how to behave in our camping site. The person who contacted me, I sent, as I do with everyone who contacts us in advance, a prior information. Where they are asked to pay attention to its content and share it with others. There is practical information such as opening hours, how we operate, our philosophy, and RULES. For example, how the car should be parked; that despite the bar being managed as a self-service, the terrace is a service for bar consumption (they probably didn’t read this). Those who bring their own drinks can freely consume them – on their plot. On the day of arrival, we had to call her and ask, despite an informative sign and the previously sent message – to park in a battery style. After they did (it wasn’t anything serious, but it shows that the person who had the information didn’t pass it on). She apologized, saying she hadn’t had time to read it. Curiously, she had managed to read that we don’t sell ice, so they arrived with bags of ice and asked if they could store it in our freezer. Something we usually don’t allow. We believe that the camper should take care of their own refrigeration and if not, use our bar (with cool drinks) and enjoy the terrace. They were allowed to keep the ice. Only that we couldn’t help but notice that they didn’t tell us the whole truth. The next day it rained all afternoon and when the group returned from climbing very late, they were wet and tired. Additionally, a couple informed us of their concern that since they left something open in the tent – it likely let water in. So we offered the group not only to cook and dine on the terrace sheltered by the roof, but if the situation of the tent was very serious, the couple could sleep the night dry inside (next to the bar with self-service, how funny and trusting). They opted to dine on the terrace, but in the end, didn’t sleep inside. Since it continued to rain, they accepted our friendly offer to wash their dishes in our kitchen designated for our restaurant service (which is not intended for campers). They left everything neatly packed (wouldn't be less). They didn’t choose to consume anything – we also didn’t pay attention to that…until the next morning. While the next day (sunny day) – now without asking – they take the same table and bring their utensils to prepare breakfast. Why they don’t have breakfast in their plot I don’t know, but I suppose they don’t like the wet ground and they haven’t brought their own chairs and tables. They also don’t use a table with benches that is available for campers in the camping area. Upon arriving, I interpret that they came because now they do wish to consume something hot from the bar and I am ready to help them. I see how they start to prepare a breakfast with burners, pots, and pans. It must be highlighted the consequence of occupying space and that other guests don’t have space to sit and consume. After a while and the service request not happening, I remind them that the terrace is for bar consumption. The “silence” group syndrome emerges – because no one takes the reins in front of the others. Finally, a few guys order 5 coffees (there were 8). I take the opportunity to make them understand the other points previously mentioned above. Summary: Read the rules well – comply with them – enjoy a natural space – support the business you visit and consume something – and go with the flow with those who have continued running a camping – there are few similar ones – since 1987... because you wouldn’t want it to disappear. Bring a good awning so that despite the rain you can keep camping properly and smile more :)

However, it was horrendously hot; there was no air conditioning, just a mini air cooler with ice that unfortunately only cooled itself. It is true that I have two hands to do it, but having paid for this service, my opinion is once again mixed. Fantastic experience: We had a lovely stay here in October, Maria was so accommodating and helpful. The campsite is large, set amongst sprawling trees and habitats. Needless to say it was very chilled (obviously we were here during low season), we felt safe to let our young kids roam around freely thanks to the no car policy. The shared bathrooms were very clean. Super easy to access nearby towns and local waterfalls & volcano craters. We fell in love with the donkeys on site too! We will be back for sure.

Positive experience: Nice, but massively overpriced. Yes, the campsites are nicely located, very spacious and shady. But that’s no reason to charge approx 30€ per night for 2 persons, a tent, a dog, and electricity. At least not if your infrastructure (lavatories, etc.) is not any better than that of municipal sites that charge half of that. Don’t get me wrong: I go camping because I am happy with low standards. It’s perfectly fine for me if no toilet paper is provided, if hot water is only available during a certain time of the day, and if the next socket is 100m away- but then please offer it for a reasonable price. Same applies for the restaurant: awesome & very friendly staff and great food (also for vegetarians), but calling a 1-plate dinner plus dessert a "menu" and charging 15€ for it without any drink included is far beyond local standards. Using the washing machine is 8€... No wonder that the place is not visited by *any* Spanish people. Customers are 80% Dutch (like the owners), the rest are French and German. If you want to experience authentic Spain/ Catalonia: go elsewhere and pay a lot less for a similar standard. If you are from northwestern Europe and prefer to stay in your comfort zone where everyone speaks English and loves mellow jazz as the background sound for dinner: you might be happy here.

Dear Horst! My apologies for replying to your review a whole year later, but I had forgotten about it and now I read your statements from last year. I think many are very good to clarify. Despite forgetting to answer you, I do remember you only stayed 2 or 3 nights but still had a lot to tell us (via Google review and not, with the kind detail, directly to us). First, I want to thank you for giving us the chance to reflect on what kind of business we run and for our future guests to take notice. In 2018, the price was: 2 adults: 2x7€, tent: 8€, dog: 3.50€, electricity: 4€. Total: 29.50€. You forgot to mention that we did not charge you for the car, which is free - as long as our rules are respected and it stays parked in the parking area. In 2019, the total price was: 2x7 / 8.50 / 3.50 / 4.50, Total: 30.50€. Our facilities are basic; we are a 3rd class campsite, which means no toilet paper, hot showers in the mornings and in the evenings only when there are very few guests on the campsite (generally it's available all day and night) (after all, we should be a good example in Europe to not waste in vain), some of the electrical points can be indeed 100m away but one can perfectly choose a pitch (which you could have done as there where, because of the restricted shower hours, few people and many pitches to choose from). We are not a municipal campsite - in fact, in Spain, there hardly exist, but a family-run private business. We offer a type of campsite practically non-existent in Spain. 6 hectares of 80 private pitches with an abundance of shade. Fantastic experience: The place is like a little paradise. We stayed in the camping in May and we had a wonderful time. It is perfect to relax and enjoy Mother Nature. There are two donkeys, very friendly and effusive welcoming strangers. The owners are very close to guests, respectful and excellent helpers with tips about hiking or things to do in the surroundings. Definitely, a place to repeat!
