Museu de la Pagesia de Fogars de la Selva: Reviews
Fantastic experience:
A very interesting place. We happened to be there today and loved it. A beautiful and well-decorated farmhouse that showcases life from before, with a lot of elements found in the area. The visit was very pleasant, we were alone and Mireia, the reception girl, explained some very curious facts to us. You can see ancient elements and spaces recreated with great taste; so much that it feels like you are in a house from that era. She was very kind and we will return with family so they can enjoy this little secret that Fogars keeps. Thank you, Mireia.

Fantastic experience:
A quiet place to learn about the history of Catalan agriculture within an authentic restored farmhouse. They have an area with life-size replicas of animals that delights children. They also tend to organize various cultural activities of all kinds: identifying plants, birdwatching, preparing traditional remedies.

Yesterday we visited this museum and were surprised and delighted at how interesting and rich a museum it is. We met the museum director: Mireia is an excellent specialist and an interesting storyteller. She explained many interesting facts about history and gave us many good tips on which other places to visit. We are very grateful for such attention and professionalism. Thank you, Mireia! We recommend everyone to visit this beautiful museum. Toni and Lana.

Fantastic experience:
It is a museum that showcases the life of rural people, both day laborers and those who cultivated the lands of families, also rural, but who could afford to entrust the care of their plots to others, and also the figure of the 'masoveros'. The museum has two spaces: the house of the lords, a recreation of a typical stone farmhouse, and a structure also made of the same stone, which is like a barn. In this space, on the walls, there are photographs of various tasks, not only from the field but also others related to the forest and other basic tasks related to farming, wine, and oil production. This 'barn' has devices and tools that have likely changed little over the centuries, from the 17th to the end of the 19th and even into the 20th century. Notable in this space are the grape press and the cart, essential for any activity that needed to be undertaken (going to collect firewood and other products, going to fetch goods in town or at another farmhouse) or that arose (going to fetch the doctor, or a teacher or a priest). The space of the main house, a very good reconstruction of what would be a farmhouse of well-off people of the time, is divided into three levels. Below, next to the entrance where tickets are sold, there is a kitchen, alongside a stable for the animals with some implements for working with them. On the second floor, which is entirely dedicated to how the estate owners lived, there are reproductions of a large dining room, a living room for reading and receiving guests, the main bedroom of the lords, and the bedroom of the daughter or son of the house. Finally, on the third level is the space dedicated to curing sausages, storing grain, and where there are various measuring containers for solids and liquids that were used before the decimal system was introduced. All objects and furniture, many from the 19th century and early to well into the 20th century, are in excellent order. Additionally, outside the farmhouse, there is an exhibition of various machines used well into the 20th century, which are operational for visitors to get an idea of how they worked not so long ago: an oil mill, a water wheel operated by animals, another that pulled water in buckets, and a grinder for wheat and cereals. The guides, who know what they have in their hands, explain very well everything to see, answer visitors' questions, and give you time to wander at your own pace admiring and reading the labels that most of the museum objects have. For my taste, it was a very interesting and well-guided visit.

Positive experience:
It's a presentation of an old farmhouse with objects that were used in the time of our grandparents, both in the home and in the field, (which can be interesting to see), as an extra thing but a bit weak to travel specifically there, if you take the opportunity to eat in the area, perfect !!
