Fantastic experience: Rocaborba Cycling is a special place. My wife and I spent 3 days there cycling as part of a longer trip. We did 2 days of road riding & one day of gravel. The rental bikes were top quality and in perfect condition. We had a guide, who was great (thanks, Xevi!). The food was memorable, both breakfast & dinner. What stood out the most, I think, was the staff at Rocacorba. They were uniformly interested, helpful, and kind. We will certainly return!

Fantastic experience: Perfect base for a few days of cycling (gravel and/or road) around Girona and Banyoles. Even though three of our four days saw heavy rain, we managed to enjoy some fun moments under the knowledgeable guidance of local tour guide and chief fixer of all things bicycle, Albert. The food was healthy and a feast for the eyes and the body. Delicious! Friendly, knowledgeable, sporty staff - a great stay for those wanting to immerse themselves in a cycling environment.

Fantastic experience: What a great place! I recently stayed there and had a wonderful time. I didn’t go for the cycling particularly (though I did cycle round the lake one day) but I could see how well cyclists are looked after and the great facilities there. Everyone is so friendly, kind and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation is perfect and evening meal wonderful. You should go!!

Fantastic experience: This place is just amazing! A must visit for everyone who loves cycling. You can start so many beautiful routes from Rocacorba Cycling and the area is so quiet and peaceful. Traffic is very light, the quality of the roads are very good and drivers are friendly and respectful. The staff are incredibly kind and always at the ready to accommodate you with whatever you need. They really make you feel at home. The rooms are nice, clean, dark and quiet. Everything for a good night sleep after a day in the saddle. The food from the in house chef Ryan is amazing and it's so nice to have dinner at the place you stay, instead of heading out in the evening when you are tired. Every day he serves something different and it's always so tasteful. We always rent a bike there too. Every time they take time to set up your bike the way you like, after a ride they check it and the day after you can start with a nice clean bike again. They also have plenty of route recommendations tailored to your needs. Need some sports drink, bars...? No problem, they have it. And coming back after a ride, there's good coffee and some cake to refuel! So you definitely have to come and stay at Rocacorba Cycling. Once you did, you come back for sure!

Fantastic experience: I hired a bike from Albert and co. The bike was great (an Aethos geared just right for the steep local climbs) and got a bunch of advice about where to cycle over a very good flat white. The hire place, where there is also a hotel, is right at the bottom of the Rocacorba climb, in a very pretty location on the perimeter of Banyoles. I'm keen to go back and stay, for the excellent cycling, great and friendly service, very clued up cycling know how, bikes and support (and that coffee). Overall, highly recommended.

I needed my di2 charging (it died on the way to Banyoles from Girona), these guys were so helpful, polite, kind and just lovely! They charged up the di2, served great coffee and those freshly baked cookies were insanely good! We are definitely staying here next time we come! Great accommodations, amazing people, laundry service, bike service, food service, coffee service, great pool for laps, adjacent trails and epic cycling destinations. It's a few minutes from the center of town but in a quiet spot. A real Garden of Eden. Can't wait to return.

Fantastic experience: This is my first experience with a cycling-focused hotel, so I have no basis for comparison, however, every aspect of my stay was amazing. The grounds themselves are gorgeous, the villa we rented was comfortable, clean, spacious, and well equipped, the optional breakfasts were perfect preparation for a long day in the saddle, the bike I rented was perfectly dialed in with the measurements I supplied in advance. More than anything, the vibe of the hotel was fantastic. The staff were very laid back, but willing to accommodate any request without hesitation. It's obviously run by cyclists for cyclists and they take obvious pleasure in sharing their special slice of the world with their guests. Cannot recommend more highly.

Fantastic experience: A special place, there’s charm and family feel to this hotel that sets it apart. I spent four nights here and loved every minute. Incredibly warm and friendly owners Ashley and Carl, and their incredible team Jess, Chef Ryan, manager Hugh, Albert the mechanic and others! Lovely rooms, great breakfasts with eggs from their chickens, and family style dinners best enjoyed in the company of the other guests.

Fantastic experience: We absolutely loved our stay in Banyoles. Our terrace room was perfect for us and the rooms and shared living space were beautifully decorated and luxurious. The team at Rocacorba cycling were incredibly helpful and friendly, suggesting great routes for us to ride and places we should visit nearby. Breakfast and dinner options were also really nice and the grilled lamb we had one evening was particularly delicious. It's not really a surprise to say it but the place is tailor made for a cycling holiday, riding in the mornings and then relaxing by the pool in the afternoons with a drink or two is hard to beat. Banyoles is perfectly positioned for road and gravel rides with the Oix/Beget loop a particular highlight. The workshop in the main house came in incredibly handy with everything you'd need if you travelled with your own bike. You just have to turn up and ride really, taking away all of the hassle and faff that can come with travelling with a bike. We would definitely come back and it seemed as though other guests thought the same or were already on their second or third stays.

Fantastic experience: We popped across to Rocacorba for a long weekend from Bristol and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The place is beautiful but what really makes it is the team- not only are they all great but they also took all the thinking away from us giving us rides to do everyday with the routes planned out! Fantastic experience: This place is amazing and the service was truly first class. Ash and Carl are fantastic hosts and with Ed and Rachel working their socks off, they made sure my stay was completely hassle free in a very friendly and inclusive environment. The farmhouse and villas have been converted into top class accommodation and are spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet is a perfect way to start the day and great for fueling a long ride. Ed and Rachel provided GPX routes to ride each day on the smooth, almost traffic free roads, as well as suggestions for cafe stops and restaurants for dinner each night. They also took care of my bike as well as they took care of me. They helped to unpack/pack it and it was cleaned after each day’s riding! All I really had to do was eat, cycle and sleep. Perfect. I can't wait to visit again.

Fantastic experience: From arrival through my entire stay at Rocacorba I felt welcomed and at home. The accommodations were excellent and the surrounding fields with 200 year old olive trees felt like being back in the 17th century when the house was built. I rode for 4 days 2 of which were with a local guide, Albert Pages. The mix of gravel trails past ancient stone houses and paths along with quiet roads made for a perfect cycling holiday. On one of my rides, I waited above a dirt road for a shepherd and his flock to pass. Needless to say, Johann and his staff were professional and helpful from fitting my 3T gravel bike to picking out gpx routes for riding. I will be back.

Fantastic experience: Rocacorba Cycling provided a fantastic bespoke experience where I was made to feel truly welcome straight away and throughout my stay at this idyllic property, particularly important to me as a solo traveller. Johan took care of my booking and was there to address any concerns or questions pre-arrival. On arrival everything was taken care of so you can just focus on riding your bike or relaxing in the beautiful surroundings. Sandy and Johan were great hosts who could never do enough and the food provided was all freshly prepared delicious and nutritious stuff. For cycling, the location just outside Banyoles is an ideal base for a wide variety of routes depending on your preferences and abilities advised and guided by Ed with his vast cycling experience, open friendly character and expert local knowledge. I’ve been on several guided cycling holidays and can honestly say this was the best I’ve experienced. Big thanks to Ash, Carl, Ed, Johan, Sandy and of course Mila the beagle for a great trip. I can’t wait to book another trip! Thoroughly impressed!

Fantastic experience: The guys at Rocacorba cycling were warm, accommodating and professional. From before I even arrived at their magnificent ancient gem on the top of the hill, they helped organize the logistics of my transfers and getting my bike set up ride ready. Johan’s attention to detail in organizing the trip and making sure every need was more than taken care of was impeccable. Sandy went beyond hosting and I actually felt like I had a ‘mom’ looking after me making sure the catering was exactly to my taste and offered to take care of all my laundry daily. Our cycling guide Ed is an absolute legend. An inspiration as an ex pro cyclist, he took us on incredible rides reading our ability and fitness perfectly adjusting our rides accordingly. Always finishing off the ride with a special treat like a swim in the lake or lunch at a special venue. He also took incredible pics along the way so I will always have a memory of every special ride. Ed also has a vast knowledge of the area and shared a lot of the history and discussed current interesting topics of the region. We also got to have one ride with Carl who is incredible. We laughed, chatted and had the most incredible ride with Carl who is also an ex pro cyclist with lots of cycling stories and a passion for Girona that is contagious. What is really special is that there is so much to do and experience in the area you don’t need to be a cyclist to enjoy this special place. I will definitely take my husband back with me next time as the team At Rocacorba cycling have promised to design a trip that will include some cycling for me but incredible sightseeing, wine and foodie fun for us to enjoy together as well. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a more incredible trip and I will definitely be back for more!

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing time at Rocacorba Cycling. Johan and Sandy are really nice, everything is well organized, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is fine. Johan had some nice tips for local restaurants. We also rented a bike at Rocacorba Cycling, very decent bikes and they cleaned and checked them every night for us. Edward and Carl give some advice for nice routes and climbs in the region and, of course, some nice coffee stops. Unfortunately we had a lot of rain, but we can't blame Rocacorba Cycling for this ;) We will definitely come again, hopefully with some sun and a nice temperature!

Four months later we found ourselves at Can Campolier and Rocacorba Cycling and it was even more than we imagined it to be. An idyllic spot - a 17th Century olive estate just outside the lovely town of Banyoles (Girona), in the process of being tastefully and lovingly refurbished by the Moolman-Pasio family, with absolute care and attention to detail and perfectly geared to cater for all levels of cycling / outdoor enthusiasts. We loved every bit of it and will definitely be back again.

Once I made my decision, they were able to find the bike at a great price. When it arrived, they set it up and fitted me on the bike to suit my riding position and posture. Can Campoliar is a beautiful masia that offers ample space, with beautifully decorated rooms and large living spaces. The team there was really friendly and helpful, and really went above and beyond to make sure we were having a great time exploring the area. The local restaurant recommendations were all really good. The accommodation itself is very clean and comfortable, and we found it to be well equipped. It is really private and we were tempted to spend the day relaxing there; however, the local area is far too nice to leave unexplored. The bikes we were given to use were in perfect condition and set up exactly to our dimensions. The highlight was getting to play with Mila the beagle - well tempered and friendly.

Ash, Carl and Ed have found the perfect location for Cyclists, MTBs and Triathletes to base themselves for either a serious block of training or just a relaxed few days cycling in the hills and mountains in the local area. Villa Can Campolier is a beautiful old Spanish farm that has been restored into a number of luxury independent properties for small or larger groups. Our house had a comfortable living space where we could chill out after a long day out on the bikes. We also had a well equipped kitchen that meant we had the choice of either cooking for ourselves in the evening or strolling down into the town for a pre-dinner drink in one of the bars by the lake followed by dinner in one of the local restaurants. Carl and Ed will make sure that all your needs are catered for. Whether it's advice on daily routes, help with a mechanical or advice on the best local places to eat they are always around to make sure you are getting the most from your stay. So if you are looking for challenging cycling with amazing scenery then Banyoles is a great place to ride and Villa Can Campolier is the perfect place to set up base camp.

Located just a 25 minute drive from Girona, right next to the lakeside town of Banyoles, Can Campolier has an idyllic setting. The accommodation is scenic and comfortable, and well-maintained by the most friendly of hosts. Edward Greene and his team are putting years of experience to good use to create an environment suitable for everyone from holiday makers looking for a gentle spin round the lake and a few quality coffee stops, to top professional athletes in search of a base from which to train. On arrival, we were picked up at the airport, delivered to our accommodation with a fridge stocked with essentials, and I was even furnished with a bike for the weekend (avoiding the expense and hassle of traveling with my own). In terms of the actual riding, I have been on my bike in many places around the world, but this was special. The roads are quiet, the scenery is breathtaking, the cars are polite, and the route options are endless. Just some of the options include winding your way along the back roads towards villages such as Beget and Camprodon, heading east towards the coast south of Barcelona, making a day of it and crossing the border into France, or testing the legs on the local giant, the Rocacorba climb, just a kilometre from the house. You have the option of booking Edward to ride with you, sharing his knowledge and experience of the roads and the sport in general. Alternatively, as we did, you can ask him to load up the GPS with a daily route and set off to explore. Mechanicals can be taken care of, you have the option of a meal on the table when you get back from your ride, or you can make use of the facilities and self cater. This really is the full package.
