Positive experience: This ancient monastery is now a great space where different things take place: exhibitions, talks, cultural weeks, etc. It also houses part of the Thyssen art collection. (Not always open)

Positive experience: It's a pity that we could only visit a small part, the most interesting part was closed.

Fantastic experience: Central facade of the monastery of Sant Feliu de Guíxols in Romanesque style. Although it has undergone significant changes over the centuries and has been influenced by various architectural movements, it still retains its Romanesque structure. The earliest ruins found belong to the late Roman or Visigothic period, but nothing remains of these. Currently, it is still owned by the Benedictines, and mass can be attended at the corresponding times.

Fantastic experience: A history museum inside a beautiful castle with a divine exterior and an amazing interior. The main part consists of a very nice church, and when you enter from the side, at the same tourist office, you have access to the interior castle visit, which consists of different painting and history rooms. You can go all the way up and enjoy the wonderful views of the city of Sant Feliu de Guíxols from the top of the castle, a beauty that is worth visiting.

Fantastic experience: Small but very interesting museum that outlines the history of the city, the origin of its name, and its development over the centuries. Climbing the tower is worth it to enjoy a beautiful view of the city and the Mediterranean.

Positive experience: Beautiful and interesting, the monumental complex of the monastery, which is the main site of the Museum of History. Recent restoration interventions have made it possible to make areas such as the Romanesque towers of Fum and Corn, which flank the unique pre-Romanesque facade of La Porta Ferrada, the Abbot's palace, with rooms for temporary exhibitions, or the museographic renewal of the permanent exhibitions, visitable. On the first floor is the old chapter room that houses the First Millennia space, intended to showcase the archaeological findings from various excavation campaigns. The current exhibition takes a journey through the Iberian era until the beginning of Romanization, with a focus on everyday life and the world of beliefs, conveyed through a synthetic, formal, and accessible discourse with illustrations and interactive elements. The towers and their architecture stand out, but the Thyssen exhibition hosts works of questionable taste.

Fantastic experience: Very interesting for outsiders of the town. I also recommend visiting the old shipwreck rescue house above the port. I really enjoyed the exhibition about Garreta, about the doctors of Sant Feliu, the exhibition about the Iberians... Impressive. Sometimes you have to hear other people's stories to understand that we are not just ourselves.

Joan M. Serch 07/01/2020

Positive experience: Just to be able to visit the Smoke Tower is worth it. The cork space is quite interesting. The building has ample space, it could be the headquarters of a good number of private or collective collections (cava plaques museum?) and serve as a cultural engine and a special attraction. It seems to lack drive, ideas, budget... it's a shame for what it could be.
Translated from Catalan

Miquel Cabré 13/08/2019

Fantastic experience: great cultural visit, brings together various spaces, cork museum, Thyssen museum, S. Feliu museum, you can visit the porta ferrada and go up to the tower of smoke from where you can see all of S. Feliu very well restored, for people with reduced mobility there is already an elevator that facilitates the visit since it is four floors high
