Firefly - Girona Airport Info and Reviews

Fantastic experience: I have always been happy with Firefly. Now they recently changed to Thrifty. Their opening hours on Google are not correct, that's why I didn't reserve a car with them (for the first time with Thrifty). It might be because of the name change... Anyways, till the end of March 2025 the opening hours in the picture are the correct one. As from April it will be different as high season begins. I hope the hours will be changed on Google as I refer to these all the time. Too bad they lost a frequently customer this time. For your information: opening hours are necessary for pick up only, drop off is with a key deposit box. Advise: reserve your car via the official website (and learn how rental car companies in general work) and you won't have any 'bad' experiences any longer.

Fantastic experience: The Girona staff is nice and respectful towards the customers. On the other side, the Barcelona staff is arrogant and aggressive and really provocative. I have witnessed this multiple times in person. To the nice ladies in Girona, keep up the good job. Don’t reserve a car via third-party sites to avoid headaches as with all the rental companies, only directly via Firefly.

Fantastic experience: Excellent P2008 car with camera, Android, navigation, low consumption, they even allowed the car rental to be extended for one more day. I did not have a bad experience with scratches as they were well marked on the rental agreement nor with fuel as I even filled the tank more than I had before the start of the rental. So it was really a good experience, I am sorry for other people... There was no problem with insurance as I took insurance from a third party, I just authorized a deposit of €1,000 to cover in case of an accident.

Positive experience: Please be aware before you rented a car from Firefly Rent a Car company. They use your credit card to give you a car and take an extra €50 without warning and didn’t return it. My agreement with them was closed on 09.12.2018 and now on 30.12.2018 I am still waiting for the return of the blocked amount. They promised to wait up to 15 days only. I made a few calls and sent an email. Nobody contacted me regarding this. Updated on 10/01/2019 I got my money back. So, it was a bank issue rather than Firefly. Always be attentive with the rental contract. The main issue was that the manager of Firefly didn't inform me about the extra charge.
