The truth is that one of the best experiences ever seen in a car rental office, super good service fast and efficient. The staff very friendly and the girls Paula and Martina super nice. But the friendliest worker is the redhead. A 10!!!

After reading all the negative comments, we booked with a bit of apprehension... but no problem.
For our 15-day vacation in early August, we rented a Seat Leon (or equivalent) and were pleasantly surprised to receive a brand new Nissan Qashqai instead. Vehicle in very good condition, cleaned and washed while we filled out the paperwork.
Counter is a 5-minute walk from the terminal. Only ten minutes of waiting at the counter upon our arrival (both counters were busy), even though we were in the middle of August. We found the waiting time to be more than reasonable.
When offered additional insurance, we simply replied that our Gold credit card covered deductibles... and no insistence from the agent!
At pick-up, we took photos and videos of the vehicle in front of the agent (as we do for each of our rentals, as a precaution) and had 3 scratches not mentioned on the condition report added.
At drop-off, we washed the car (to avoid cleaning fees) and had no issues, nor any undue charges after our departure.
This is the third time we've rented with Avis abroad (Marrakech, Montreal, and Girona) and honestly, we've never had the problems described by some users.

The confirmation email mentioned credit card while their general conditions state that they accept both credit and DEBIT cards. Anyway, it made me a bit anxious, but in the end, the guy was very friendly, I was the first from the flight to present at the counter, the procedure took 5 minutes, the car was perfect. The return was even faster, the guy checked the fuel, the bodywork, and 10 minutes later I had the confirmation that everything was in order.

Unfortunately, a bad experience with Avis Girona. We rented a car on September 29. The flight was about an hour late, but fortunately the Avis office was still open. There, we were told that they officially close at 10:00 PM (we arrived around 10:15 PM) and that they had waited until we, and many others, could pick up their car. However, we had to pay an extra fee: €100. Otherwise, we wouldn't get the car. This applied to everyone in line, who were all 15-20 minutes late due to our flight delay. We were told we needed to claim this amount from Ryanair. It's bizarre to us, and there is no mention of this in the terms.
