I don't know where to start… Hotel / Restaurant Taverna de la Sal. My wife (Anna) has part of her heart in this wonderful town on the Costa Brava, which is the Escala. She decided to go three days this September, searched the internet and found a real gem, the Taverna de la Sal. A small hotel with 6 rooms (all overlooking the town's beach) and a restaurant on the ground floor. We have been to many hotels and this one has nothing to envy in any way, large and exquisitely decorated rooms, excellent or superior treatment. The owners (according to them the owner is the bank) are lovely, Mariona and Matthew (sometimes Josep María) are the soul of this site. On the ground floor there is a restaurant that the same people also run, how could it be otherwise, excellent food, marvelously served by Neringa and Jessica (I don't know the names of the cooks, who forgive me). Although the hotel closes from the end of October until the beginning of April… WE WILL RETURN !!!! Thank you very much for being as you are! Until next time!.

Fantastic experience: We had a fabulous holiday at L'Escala staying at Taverna De La Sal hotel. The location is perfect with 50 metres walk to the beach and plenty of good restaurants around (starting with the Taverna restaurant downstairs). The hosts Mariona and Matthew made the place very accommodating and went to a great length to make our stay perfect starting with a very tasty breakfast every morning (typically on a balcony overlooking the beach). The only bit of inconvenience is that there is no parking next to the hotel, but this is the price you pay for being in pedestrian area of the town. The underground parking nearby was adequate though,
